Governor of Katsina State Launches Phase 3 of AGILE Project Grants to SBMCs

On Monday, July 15, 2024, the Governor of Katsina State officially launched the third phase of large grants distribution to 100 School-Based Management Committees (SBMCs) under the Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE) Project. 

During the ceremony held at Rimi LGA, the Governor emphasized the critical role of education in the state's development and reiterated the administration's commitment to providing quality education for every child in Katsina. The grants will enable SBMCs to undertake essential projects, including classroom renovations, provision of learning materials, and improvement of sanitation facilities.

The Governor praised the dedication of the SBMCs and urged them to use the funds judiciously and transparently. He also highlighted the different models of fund utilization, ensuring community involvement in project implementation.

Addressing teachers, parents, and traditional and religious institutions, the Governor called for their continued support in fostering a culture of learning. He encouraged students to take full advantage of the opportunities provided to them.

The event marked a significant milestone in improving the learning environment in Katsina State schools, with a focus on sustainable community-driven development.
